A Casual and Elegant Intimate Winter Wedding at The Columns Hotel | New Orleans, Louisiana

January may not be considered an ideal wedding month to most, but in New Orleans it’s a different story. Mild weather and quiet streets before Mardi Gras kicks into full gear, weddings are whole heartedly welcome in the first month of the year.

Claire and Steven planned the perfect last minute intimate wedding at The Columns Hotel and pulled it off so effortlessly. With a first look in the courtyard(their dog included), portraits outside of the property on St. Charles Ave and the ceremony and reception taking place on the second story balcony, the day flowed easily and with minimum effort. Claire and Steven wanted to emphasize real rather than manufactured moments so taking a documentary approach was important. Besides the few minutes we set aside for more directive posing portraits, everything felt so natural and comfortable. My favorite way to work on a wedding day.
